Contexto
Montes del Plata is a forestry and industrial company that involves a production chain in Uruguay, employing more than 6,500 people and over 2,000 suppliers. Each year, it produces 1.4 million tons of pulp, and its products account for the equivalent of 8.3% of the country's goods exports.
Its eucalyptus plantations are spread across 13 departments, and it has an industrial complex, a nursery, a logistics terminal, and offices in Colonia, Durazno, Paysandú, Río Negro, and Montevideo. Additionally, it is the largest private generator of clean and renewable energy in Uruguay, accounting for 9% of the total.
In 2023, it renovated its Montevideo offices in Tower 3 of the World Trade Center complex, incorporating the open-office concept with collaborative spaces, an expanded dining area, and the addition of 4 videoconference rooms, in addition to the 3 already existing.
The project
The company sought to facilitate collaboration between those who choose to work from home and those who go to the office, while also shortening the distances between the company's locations in the country.
For this, Montes del Plata trusted us, and together with our partner Neat, a Norwegian brand, we installed audiovisual infrastructure that allows detecting, zooming in on, and tracking all the participants in the room up close, regardless of their position. At the same time, the design of the equipment ensures it complements the aesthetic lines of the new workspaces.
The Neat systems integrate natively with Microsoft Teams, allowing for a seamless integration with the collaboration and communication platform that Montes del Plata was already using.
This enhances the image and sound quality in meetings and facilitates interaction between people.
How has the experience been?
Javier Cairús, IT Infrastructure Project Manager at Montes del Plata, highlighted the “simplicity during installation, configuration, and use; everything is straightforward, with just the right and necessary options.”
Regarding the adoption of the new tools, Cairús stated: “There was an adjustment period in the usage flow by employees and in configuring it according to their requirements (camera position, focus mode, etc.), but the quality of the video and audio, as well as the simplicity of the setup, has been very positive.”
Finally, regarding the collaboration with Isbel, he considered it to be “a very willing team, that gives everything within their reach to overcome complex situations and reach a successful outcome.” He also highlighted that having “defined processes for the entire life cycle of a project reflects the company's maturity.”
